July 2010--Idaho

At the 4th of July Fireworks show, we bumped into a friend from our ward who had just had her first baby. I was so excited to meet little Carolina and a lady sitting by us jumped up to admire the new baby too. She looked at my friend Scarlett and then me and asked, "Are you the proud Grandma?" Um, that would be NO. I have never been asked if I'm a grandmother before. What is that all about?!

We were lucky enough to spend almost 3 weeks on vacation in Idaho and Utah. We started with a long weekend at the family cabin in Island Park, on Henry's Lake. The cool temperatures were a relief, but the mosquitoes were in plague proportions this year! Maddie broke her collarbone the first day of our trip, so she missed out on further boating activities, but she made up for it in style. Grandma felt bad for her and helped her make an authentic mumu back at the house in Idaho Falls and they had fun with that project. We loved playing with cousins, relaxing on the back porch, doing the giant slip and slide, visiting our good friends, the Zollingers, and visiting with all the Baker relatives at a cousin's wedding.
