The weather was cool and cloudy--just right, we thought--and we spent most of our time at the hotel's indoor pool and play area, with occasional excursions to the shore to collect shells and get tumbled in the waves. We were on the 18th floor, overlooking the ocean and the kids thought it was the greatest, though it made me extremely nervous to have them out on the balcony.
Dallin Whiting introduced Maddie to the game "Risk" and she proved her true LeBaron blood by becoming instantly addicted to it. Eloise wandered off after a while, but Maddie was definitely intrigued with the idea of becoming ruler of the universe. Sarah and Jackie barely stopped for breath as they ran circles around us all, and Tami and I loved just sitting by the pool visiting. Oh yes, and the paper was a success at the conference! Rob and Steve had professor-type fun discussing statistical probabilities of rolling ones or fives while we played Hot Dice. I love being married to a nerdy guy.
Sally made us laugh on the way home by telling us her latest great idea--a day where kids can make as much noise as they want, all day long. She said, "You know, you and dad could just go off to a friend's house and play Parcheesi while we stay home and make noise." Something about the way she so casually mentioned Parcheesi, when we've never said that word in our house (and don't even know what the game is!) was so Sarah Jane.
Bea loved the water. She also loves her new mu'umu'u from our friends in Hawaii - the Bradshaws. Thanks.

I love the things kids say! Sounds like Morgan would enjoy conversations with Sally. She's really into imaginary friends these days and just tonight (on our way to McDonald's because I'm pathetic and didn't cook) we passed a house along the way (just some random house) that had Craig's campaign sign up and she said "Mom, you know I told you about my friend whose house got flooded on the roof? That's her house and she's my friend cause Craig is running for City Council. Cool huh?" Oh the things that come from a three year old! I love your blog site - after campaign season we'll have to get one up and running!
